The 12 Days of Organizing by Donating, Getting Rid of, or Keeping our Treasures

SK Simple Solutions offers a unique form of organizing.

12 Days, 30 minutes each day, decide what to donate, get rid of, or keep!

12 hundred corks, 11 missing flip flops, 10 funny erasers, 9 piles of papers, 8 jars of dried goods, 7 old sharpeners, 6 Halloween tags, 5 paper bags, 4 shelves of linens, 3 snake skins, 2 festive pillows, and just 30 minutes organizing every day!

We are on a journey to change our clutter behavior to reduce what we buy, reuse what we have, and treasure & display our collectibles! Schedule a organizing session and we can be your clutter buddies!

Let’s look at days #9 & #10 of the 12 Days of Organizing.

On the ninth day of Organizing

My organizer said to me

9 piles of paper

  • Set a specific goal: incoming paper clutter

  • Make 3 piles; shred, recycle, KEEP

  • Set the timer: 30 minutes

  • Go

Day #9 Paper

Are you crafty? Do you scrapbook? Do you make cards? What do these hobbies have in common? They all use paper. So many different types of paper!

But how do you store paper? Paper needs to be kept from wrinkling, tearing, fading or getting wet. In addition, those vital documents (birth and marriage certificates, grant deeds, wills, even bills and other paper generated instances need a safe spot to reside.

First clear unnecessary paper; recycle magazines, catalogues, newspapers, flyers and coupons. Use a file drawer, accordion file, paper file box to keep monthly bills, yearly expenses, insurance files (car, home)

Original vital documents, birth & marriage certificates, Social Security cards, car titles, house deed, in a fire safe box or fire safe suitcase.

On the tenth day of Organizing

My organizer said to me

10 funny erasers

Day # 10 Collections

I collected these erasers when I was in school. So, this day of organizing can focus on your home office or on the things you collect. Let’s reintroduce Sk Simple Solution for displaying, inventorying, packing, and storing our collectibles, holiday décor, or hobbies.

Inevitably you will receive gifts from others to add to your home décor. Use the philosophy of “one in, one out” and you will always find joy in your home throughout the year!
